I’m so excited to announce a new release coming in April: the first of my “Song of the Towers” series of novels!
A Princess imprisoned for ten years.
A Chicken Farmer who dares defy the High Sorcerer.
A Bard who’s just along for the ride.
Princess Daphne of Undersunne has been imprisoned by the High Sorcerer for ten years. She isn’t dead… yet, but she’s running out of time.
Erin, the daughter of a chicken farmer, wants to rescue the Princess. She’s got a sword, a bow, acres of willpower and a scrap of magic. But before she faces the three insurmountable tasks before her, she has to convince the druids that she’s the right person for the job.

Erin looked at Alder. ‘I want to rescue the Princess,’ she announced. ‘How can I go about doing that?’
Alder’s mouth fell open in surprise and shock and he looked frozen. He choked, and tried to breathe in his own tongue. He went red in the face, and stared up at the girl, astonished. ‘You must be joking,’ Alder whispered.
‘I’m not,’ Erin replied calmly. ‘I want to help the Princess.’
Alder spluttered. ‘But you… you’re a girl! The spell – the story – is supposed to look for the bold and the brave: the hero.’
‘I’m bold and brave,’ said Erin. ‘I can be a hero. Tell me how to rescue her and I’ll do it.’
‘Very funny, boys,’ Alder chortled, looking earnestly at the three young men behind Erin. ‘Now which one of you is going to try?’ They glanced at each other, and then back at him, confused.
‘I’m not going,’ said onen with a laugh. ‘Rescue the Princess? We might be handy against an elf but we’re not fool enough to go up against sorcerers.’
Alder frowned at them, looking past Erin as if she was no longer there. ‘So you set up this poor girl as a joke on me,’ said Alder, his face falling. ‘Well, I suppose this is a new one, and at least you’re not throwing rotten onions at me.’
Erin shook her head. ‘This isn’t a joke,’ she said.
